Movable Bridges
NYC DOT oversees 23 movable bridges throughout the five boroughs. NYC DOT's movable bridges include two retractile bridges, seven swing bridges, four lift bridges, and eleven bascule (drawbridge) bridges. Federal mandates require around-the-clock coverage at many of the movable bridges.
