NYC DOT’s Sign Shop creates the street signs installed throughout the five boroughs of New York City. These signs serve a variety of purposes, including curbside parking regulations, intersection control signs, guide signs, and street names signs.
Limited Sign Releases
Be on the lookout every month for our limited sign releases for a chance to purchase an NYC DOT sign commemorating a special event, street, or even a custom never released sign!
All limited signs are made at our Sign Shop by the staff that are responsible for creating the signs you see throughout our city every day.
Limited signs are available via the NYC City Store in limited quantities and for a limited time.

Cornelia Street Sign
Back by popular demand, our Cornelia Street sign will be available just in time for the holidays! Cornelia Street is in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, between Bleeker Street and West 4th Street.
This sign will be available for purchase on December 13, 2024, at 12:13 pm EST.

SOLD OUT: Wu-Tang Clan District Sign
The Wu-Tang Clan District is located at the corner of Targee Street and Vanderbilt Avenue on Staten Island. This ‘sign drop’ honors the legendary hip-hop group from Staten Island's Park Hill neighborhood. The street was officially co-named in 2019. The limited release is available in two versions: authentic green and NYC DOT’s custom black and yellow colorway.
The Wu-Tang Clan District Sign was released in November 2024.
SOLD OUT: Rivera Avenue Sign
The intersection of Rivera Avenue and 161st Street, which is next to Yankee Stadium, is co-named Rivera Avenue for New York Yankees legend Mariano Rivera. Rivera was a pitcher for the Yankees from 1995 to 2013 and is a 5-time world champion. Rivera is Major League Baseball’s all-time leader in saves with 652 saves. For this limited sign drop, 25 signs will be available for purchase.
The Rivera Avenue Sign was released in October 2024.
SOLD OUT: Stan Lee Way Sign
Stan Lee Way is located on University Avenue between Brandt Place and West 176th Street in Morris Heights, the Bronx, where Stan Lee grew up. As the former top writer and publisher at Marvel Comics, Lee is widely considered a trailblazer in contemporary comic production. The street was officially co-named in 2021 to honor the comic book legend. This limited sign release is available in two versions: authentic green and NYC DOT’s custom comic book colorway.
The Stan Lee Way Sign was released in October 2024.
SOLD OUT: Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace Way Sign
Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace Way is in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn at the corner of St. James Place between Fulton Street and Gates Avenue, where the iconic rapper grew up. The street was officially co-named in 2019 to celebrate the rapper’s life. Our sign drop coincides with the 30th anniversary of Ready to Die, the debut studio album by the Notorious B.I.G.
The Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace Way Sign was released in September 2024.
SOLD OUT: Cornelia Street Sign
Cornelia Street is in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, between Bleeker Street and West 4th Street. This ‘sign drop’ celebrates Greenwich Village’s prominence among pop music fans. This is the first time a limited sign is available in two versions: its original historic district design and sunset pink.
The Cornelia Street Sign was released in August 2024.
SOLD OUT: 'Beastie Boys Square' Sign
The 'Beastie Boys Square' street sign hangs at the corner of Ludlow and Rivington streets in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. This corner was featured on the iconic cover of Paul’s Boutique, the second studio album released by the Beastie Boys on July 25, 1989. A ceremonial street co-naming in September 2023 dubbed the intersection 'Beastie Boys Square'.
The 'Beastie Boys Square' street sign was released in July 2024.
SOLD OUT: Christopher Street Stonewall Place Sign
On June 1, 1989, 20 years after the Stonewall Riots, the City of New York declared Christopher Street between Waverly Place and Seventh Avenue South as Stonewall Place.
The Christopher Street Stonewall Place Sign was released in June 2024.
How Signs are Made
NYC DOT maintains about one million signs citywide. The NYC DOT Sign Shop located in Maspeth, Queens produces over 70,000 signs a year. You may order a sign by completing our order form.
