Car Seat Fittings

Nine out of ten car seats are installed incorrectly. NYC DOT’s Office of Safety Education and Outreach conducts free car seat inspections throughout the city. At each fitting, a trained car seat technician will check your car seat and ensure it is installed correctly. In-person car seat inspections take place during the months of April through October. Virtual car seat checks are scheduled throughout the year.

Car seat checks are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment please call 212-839-4777 or 347-931-5542, or email carseats@dot.nyc.gov.
