Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many New Yorkers delayed or avoided their cancer screenings. The Commissioner is now urging all New Yorkers to return to regular screenings.


Cancer is the second-leading cause of death in the city, but many cancers are preventable. The most effective ways to prevent cancer are through screenings and reducing patients’ risk factors.
