NYC DOT to Close Brooklyn Bridge Pedestrian and Bicycle Pathway Over Four Weeknights to Facilitate Construction
Cyclists and pedestrians wishing to cross the Brooklyn Bridge will be directed to alternate routesThe New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) will close the pedestrian and bicycle path and the Washington Street Stairway on the Brooklyn Bridge for construction on four weeknights.
The pathway and stairway will be closed at the following times:
- Tuesday, November 3 at 9 p.m. to Wednesday, November 4 at 6 a.m.
- Wednesday, November 4 at 9 p.m. to Thursday, November 5 at 6 a.m.
- Tuesday, November 10 at 9 p.m. to Wednesday, November 11 at 6 a.m.
- Wednesday, November 11 at 9 p.m. to Thursday, November 12 at 6 a.m.
Pedestrians and cyclists wishing to cross the East River via the Brooklyn Bridge will be directed to use alternate routes, such as the Manhattan Bridge.
DOT will be posting signs and VMS boards in both Brooklyn and Manhattan alerting New Yorkers of the closure. Additionally, personnel will be stationed at either end of the bridge to inform visitors as well.
The roadways for vehicular traffic will remain open.
