Traffic Advisory - Bruckner Boulevard and Expressway
The New York City Department of Transportation announced that the westbound Bruckner Boulevard and westbound Bruckner Expressway have all lanes open to traffic. The eastbound Bruckner Expressway remains closed at the split for the Sheridan Expressway. Eastbound Bruckner Boulevard is closed from Leggett Avenue to Whittier Street until further notice.
Detour routes for eastbound traffic are as follows:
Motorists on the Bruckner Expressway heading east will instead take the Sheridan Expressway North, which they will follow to 177th Street, where they will be directed on to the Cross Bronx Expressway, which connects back to the Bruckner Expressway.
Motorists on Bruckner Boulevard traveling east will take a right-hand turn onto either Leggett Avenue or Lafayette Street. They will then be directed to take a left onto Garrison Avenue which they will follow until they reach Whittier Street. At Whittier Street motorists will take a left turn to connect back to the Bruckner.
The detour route is marked with signs and traffic agents will be on-site directing traffic.
