The new resources, part of Mayor Mamdani’s Block by Block housing plan, will make it easier for homeowners in historic districts looking to add an ADU and landmark property owners looking to use landmark transfers to fund building upkeep while enabling the creation of new housing nearby.
LPC Chair Lisa Kersavage joined Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, New York City Councilmember Justin E. Sanchez, NYLPF Chair Tom Krizmanic, and Bronx Community Board 2 to unveil new markers commemorating the Longwood Historic District and District Extension.
LPC voted to designate three buildings linked to New York City’s immigration history as individual landmarks: Public School 15 Annex in Brooklyn, the Church of Saint Mary on the Lower East Side, and the Lithuanian Alliance Building in Chelsea.
LPC joined State Senator Cleare, Assemblymember Wright, Councilmember Salaam, NYLPF, Manhattan Community Board 10, and Save Harlem Now! to unveil new markers commemorating Central Harlem – West 130th-132nd Streets Historic District.
LPC released a list of agency accomplishments, including key initiatives to support economic growth, housing creation, and improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of agency processes.
