Adopted Rules

Rules are agency regulations that have the force of laws, but differ in the process used to enact or amend them.

Before a DSNY rule can be adopted, it is posted on the NYC Rules website, and we conduct a public hearing to give New Yorkers the opportunity to review and submit comments. Once the proposed rule is finalized and ready for adoption, it is published in the City Record.
