NeON Works is designed for people who are at all different stages of their employment journey: from the young person who is not sure where to begin to the college graduate who wants to get ahead in their chosen field - providing a highly individualized set of opportunities depending on each person’s interests and work readiness. Some participants might just attend a workshop or two; others may want to sit down with a NeON Works service provider for an in-depth, personal assessment to help figure out their goals and make a plan to achieve them. Some will attend credentialing programs and educational opportunities; others will join internships and start new jobs.

NeON Works provide three main services along with wraparound supports as needed:

  • professional development and career exploration workshops
  • individualized needs assessment and supports
  • supported connections to programs that result in one of the following outcomes: a) high school equivalency (HSE) credential enrollment, b) college enrollment, c) enrollment in a college pathway program, d) acceptance into internships and job services programs, e) job placement, or f) training that leads to a high-quality credential proven to assist with job placement.

Where does NeON Works take place?

Each of the neighborhoods where a NeON is located has its own service provider/partner. Programs will take place at NeONs and other locations in these neighborhoods, as well as virtually.
