Services
The Neighborhood Opportunity Network (NeON) collaborates with a wide range of community-based organizations across all seven NeON neighborhoods, offering services such as mentoring, arts programs, and job training. Research published in the American Sociological Review highlights a strong link between increased community programming and reduced incarceration rates. NeON's mission is built around three core pillars:
- Network: NeON brings together a diverse network of partners, including public and private entities, to work collaboratively in neighborhood settings. The goal is to enhance public safety and support the success of individuals on probation by engaging them within their communities.
- Engage: NeON staff actively supervise and assist clients and their families in their own neighborhoods. The focus is on fostering positive life choices, encouraging educational and career achievements, and promoting active citizenship to help individuals transform their lives.
- Community Engagement: NeON aims to strengthen community ties by collaborating with local partners and residents. By addressing complex client needs through community-driven solutions, NeON helps build stronger, more cohesive neighborhoods.
This approach emphasizes building strong, community-centered collaborations to support public safety and promote positive outcomes for individuals on probation.
