This time-limited program offered by the NYC Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) allows noncustodial parents who have child support debt permanently owed to the NYC Department of Social Services (DSS) to pay off their debt twice as fast. For example, make a payment of $600 and receive a $600 match, reducing your debt by a total of $1,200, up to the amount you owe.
Nearly 5,000 noncustodial parents have participated in a Pay It Off (PIO) program in the past. The average debt reduction per case is $4,800.
Starting March 2, 2026, take the following steps to get your debt reduced:
Submit the completed, signed agreement and a copy of your photo ID between March 2 – 13 by email, mail, or in person. A separate agreement is required per case to receive a credit.
February 9, 2026: Agreement and instructions will be posted to this website.
OCSS will send you a summary of action taken 4 to 5 weeks after the agreement and payment(s) are received.
Pay your monthly court ordered obligation in full for a year and get an additional $5,000 off your NYC DSS debt at the end of 12 months. Stay in the program for up to three years and get a total of up to $15,000 taken off your NYC DSS debt. See details and download the application.
