Squad 10 was established in July 2019 and conducts oversight of the City Department of Design and Construction (DDC), the City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the City Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), and the City Department of Transportation (DOT). Squad 10 investigations have led to a New Jersey-based contractor pleading guilty to negligently causing the release of asbestos into the air, charges against a City worker for stealing $275,000 from a former coworker disabled by strokes, and recommendations on significant issues including oversight of City-issued parking placards and asbestos regulation governing certified asbestos investigators.
