Squad 6 oversees select City-uniformed service agencies and other oversight agencies, including the City Department of Sanitation (DSNY), the City Fire Department (FDNY), the City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC), the City Emergency Management (NYCEM) and the Conflicts of Interest Board (COIB). This Squad investigates a spectrum of allegations against City employees, with cases including insurance fraud schemes in which falsified disability claim forms were submitted to companies for reimbursement; massive time and leave abuse resulting in theft of World Trade Center funds; and falsified inspections, as in this investigation that led to the arrest of a former Fire Protection Inspector with the FDNY.
