Economic Development + Permits and Licenses

The Economic Development Committee reviews business-related projects and proposals. The Committee meets with merchant associations, business advocates, and workforce development organizations to promote business growth, retention, employment and economic development in general for the district.

The Permits and Licenses Committee reviews new and renewal applications for establishments in the district seeking a liquor license from New York State Liquor Authority. The Committee also oversees applications for the Department of Consumer Affairs Sidewalk Café permits and Department of City Planning Enclosed Sidewalk Cafe permits.

Meets: the second Tuesday of the month at 6pm as needed. Please check the board's calendar or contact the district office to confirm the next committee meeting date and time. Note, as of 2021, the Economic Development and Permits and Licenses Committees meet jointly.
