Economic Development
Focuses on business conditions, workforce development, and economic opportunities in CB4.
Core Responsibilities:
- Monitor commercial corridors, small business stability, and major economic initiatives.
- Review proposals affecting local commerce (rezonings, major leases, business improvement programs).
- Coordinate with NYC Small Business Services, NYC Economic Development Corporation, merchant associations/groups, and workforce partners.
- Identify and advocate budget priorities for economic recovery, workforce training, and commercial revitalization.
- Consider the economic impacts of land use actions in coordination with Housing and Land Use.
Meets: jointly with the Housing and Land Use Committee on the last Tuesday of the month at 6pm as needed. Please check the board's calendar or contact the district office to confirm the next committee meeting date and time.
