Visiting Inspector Program

Understanding the laws that apply to your business is key to operating responsibly and avoiding fines. As a new business, it can be hard to know what you need to do to comply. DCWP’s Visiting Inspector Program (VIP) provides a free visit by a senior inspector who will advise you on what you need to know to comply with DCWP regulations and avoid violations.

Businesses that are newly licensed by DCWP will be contacted to set up a VIP appointment, but any new brick-and-mortar retail business in New York City, regardless of whether it is licensed by DCWP, can request a VIP appointment to receive an educational, violation-free visit. These visits are designed to help business owners learn about and comply with the laws that DCWP enforces.
