Either to obtain building records, meet with a Project Advocate to assist in resolving technical/operational issues related to a project or property, or maybe it’s to get information on finding a licensed professional, or obtain direction for a future project. Whatever the reason, the Department is here to help you.
DOB promotes the safety of all people that build, work, and live in New York City. We are committed to providing efficient service to all New Yorkers to meet the safety and permitting needs of residents across all five boroughs and that includes your project.
Our borough offices are open every Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm for homeowners, tenants, small business owners, and building managers. During Buildings After Hours, staff from the borough commissioner’s office, borough operations, development inspections, enforcement inspections, and plan examination are available to answer questions and provide the information needed to:
