At the Department of Buildings, we pride ourselves on safety, transparency, and efficiency. The Service Levels Tracker allows property owners and the public to better understand DOB timelines. Our goal is to help every New Yorker understand the impact our inspections and approvals have on the timelines of their projects. With this online tool New Yorkers are allowed to see the average wait times for DOB services all in one place, with clear explanations of the different DOB metrics. . This creates an environment where the property owner and construction professional are on the same page as they work together.

The Service Levels Tracker not only helps you plan your project smart; it also helps you plan your project safe. The performance metrics calculate average timelines for Plan Submission Reviews, Inspection Requests, Appointments to Plan Approval, General Customer Service and Construction Safety Compliance. All the metrics used in our Service Levels Tracker are quarterly running averages, updated monthly. Get your project moving by using the Service Levels Tracker.

In addition, the Service Level Tracker assists DOB operationally by spotting our trouble areas. Using this tool, we can improve our efficiency and enhance our customer service. Transparency and accountability being the focal point, we take every opportunity to better serve New Yorkers.
