The Administration for Children's Services (ACS) is firmly committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all individuals within the agency, workforce and in programs, services and activities offered to the public. Reasonable Accommodation

Grievance Procedures & Reporting Discrimination

ACS is dedicated to creating an inclusive, welcoming and discrimination free environment.  If you are a member of the public and believe you have been discriminated against because of a disability while engaging with the programs, services and activities provided by ACS, you may contact the ADA Coordinator/Disability Service Facilitator or “DSF” to address your concerns, provide information and work towards finding a resolution in accordance with citywide policy and relevant laws. Your information will be kept confidential and will only be shared with those involved in investigating and resolving the issues.

Five-Year Accessibility Plan 

Pursuant to Local Law 12 of 2023, we have created the ACS Five-Year Disability Access Plan that aims to identify and address barriers to access across all divisions within the agency, ensuring that our workplaces, the services, programs, and activities are accessible to persons with disabilities. Website Accessibility Statement

ACS is committed to ensuring its digital content is accessible to and usable by people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Our digital content is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA with the exceptions set forth at 28 CFR § 35.201.

Assessment Approach

ACS assesses the accessibility of its digital content through self-evaluation and pursuant to WCAG and other applicable guidelines.
