The Food and Nutrition Department of Coney Island Hospital strives to accomplish three very important tasks:

  • To provide good and tasty food for our patients
  • To provide them with important nutritional counseling
  • To encourage good dietary habits.

We currently prepare approximately 1,000 meals per day, using an up to date food safety program developed by Pillsbury for the NASA space program. Called HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), the program has become the universally recognized and accepted method for food safety.

Our Nutritional experts (all Registered Dieticians) provide individualized nutritional counseling to the Hospital’s inpatients and outpatients. You will find Nutritional counseling available at all of our outpatient clinics. We take pride in serving the residents of Southern Brooklyn. Bon Appétit!
