The Cardiology division of Coney Island Hospital offers complete diagnostic and clinical services for both inpatients and outpatients. We are a fully accredited New York State Cardiac Diagnostic center that includes both a diagnostic catheterization lab, and a cardiac non-invasive lab. Our nine bed Critical Care Unit, and five bed Coronary Recovery unit is staffed by a full time attending cardiologist and cardiology fellow. Outpatient cardiac clinic services are provided for patients discharged from the hospital for follow-up and cardiac consultation services.

The Catheterization  Laboratory performs daily procedures on all inpatients and also provides same day discharge for scheduled ambulatory surgery patients . Our services include but are not limited to: coronary angiography, right and left heart valve studies, coronary bypass angiography and right and left heart for congenital heart disease.

The Catheterization  Laboratory personnel have an average of twenty plus years of experience . We are proud to have one of the lowest complication rates in New York State.

Our Cardiac non-Invasive lab offers a full array of non-invasive cardiac procedures, such as echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE’s), ECG stress, nuclear stress test imaging, stress echocardiography, ambulatory ECG monitoring, event loop recording, and tilt table studies. TEE’s and elective cardio versions are done with an anesthesiologist present. Nuclear stress testing is performed in our nuclear medicine department under the supervision of both a board certified cardiologist and nuclear radiologist.

Comprehensive outpatient cardiac rehabilitation is provided in collaboration with the Department of Rehabilitation here at Coney Island Hospital.
