Coney Island Hospital Department of Behavioral Health provides a wide variety of outpatient and inpatient services as well as psychiatric crisis/emergency services. A multilingual staff of Department of Behavioral Health clinical professionals provides high quality, culturally sensitive treatment to our patients.

The Adult Mental Health Program provides multi-disciplinary clinic treatment services to patients ages 18 and over, including individual, family, group psychotherapy, medication and crisis services.

Case Management Program (CMP)
Two Assertive Community Treatment Programs provide comprehensive treatment services for severely mentally ill adults who frequently use inpatient and emergency services. The Supportive Case Management Program serves patients needing concrete services. All referrals must come through the Single Point of Access (SPOA) for Brooklyn.

Adult Mental Health Inpatient Services
The Psychiatric Inpatient Program (PIP) provides a 64 bed acute psychiatric inpatient program for individuals 18 and over with a primary major psychiatric disorder, including dually diagnosed psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. Unit provides multidisciplinary assessment, milieu therapy, individual and group therapies, pharmacotherapy and medical assessment and treatment as needed. It also offers aftercare planning and follow-up.

Chemical Dependency Treatment Services
Outpatient Services provides outpatient chemical dependency treatment for men and women over the age of 18 years. We offer specialized groups for mentally ill and chemically dependent (MICA) women, older adults and significant others.

For Russian patients not proficient in English, a team of Russian professionals provides treatment services in Russian. Acupuncture and Buprenorphine treatment are available on site.

A Hospital Intervention Service (HIS) provides outreach, education and prevention services to the general hospital and local providers. A Smoking Cessation Program provides educational and treatment services to assist clients to stop smoking at the main hospital site.
