We are proud of our highly knowledgeable, skilled and devoted employees. Our team all shares our mission and values of placing our residents before self. DSSM medical and nursing teams are on site 24 hours a day and work collaboratively for the best outcomes. Resident satisfaction surveys, employee feedback, family evaluations and internal assessment are some methods used to measure our designs at DSSM. These processes, along with the values of education and our best practices, allow us to attain and retain the most optimal quality of care.
Our carte du jour (menus) are designed by our registered dieticians who integrate individual cultural preferences while meeting our clients' dietetic needs, including kosher meals. Nutritious refreshments are provided to our residents between meals whenever needed. We host special events inclusive of theme dining, garden barbeques, holiday specials and birthday parties that come with live cultural entertainment.
It is a difficult choice to place your loved one in a long term care population. The change requires important modifications on the part of both resident and family. Our Social Services Team offers our residents emotional support and remains in constant communication with their family members. They work with family members before admission to ensure a smooth transition and that includes counseling. Discharge planning starts on the day of admission. The facility provides support for residents and their relatives in preparation for a smooth return to the community.
