Dr. Susan Smith McKinney Nursing & Rehabilitation Center has a Community Advisory Board (CAB) and an Auxiliary Board that were established by the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. These boards are comprised of 20 and 15 community members, respectively. These volunteers advocate for, and support the facility and its residents, by reporting the facility's goals and purpose to the community.

The Chairperson of the Dr. Susan Smith McKinney Nursing & Rehabilitation Center CAB is Jeromane Berger - Gaskin.

The President of the DSSM Auxiliary is Ms. Cislyn Boucher.
