Patient Safety
Dr. Susan Smith McKinney Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is committed to making our facility one of the safest in the nation. Our Patient Safety Action Plan includes a patient safety orientation for all new staff, annual mandatory training for all incumbent staff, a weekly Patient Safety bulletin, and an annual Culture of Patient Safety Survey to measure our progress. Our leadership conducts regular executive patient safety walk-rounds to observe daily activity and ensure that patient safety precautions are taken when needed. We also participate in the Joint Commission's Speak Up program, encouraging our residents and their families to speak up about their safety issues and concerns.
