Vallone Veteran Resource Center Initiative

Citywide, in-person benefits help for Veterans, Service Members, Caregivers, Survivors, and families.

Overview

Named in honor of Council Member Paul A. Vallone, whose leadership helped create NYC DVS and expand neighborhood-level access to earned benefits. The Vallone Veteran Resource Center Initiative is a partnership between the NYC Department of Veterans’ Services (DVS), the New York City Council, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Accredited Veterans Service Officers (VSOs) hold recurring office hours in Council District offices so community members can get help with VA disability claims and related benefits—close to home and at no cost.

  • Check claim status and explain next steps
  • Connect you to supports (benefits, housing, employment, education, mental health, caregiver services)
