Shin Kim joined NYCHA as Senior Vice President of Supply Management and Procurement in February 2021. In this role, she plans and directs NYCHA’s procurement and supply management operations.
Ms. Kim brings over 20 years of public sector experience driving operational and administrative efficiencies. She started her government career with the New York State Executive Chamber, working with both the Offices of the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor. Ms. Kim also served as the Chief of Staff at the New York City Department of Administrative Services’ Office of Citywide Procurement, where she oversaw operations including procurement, central storehouse, quality assurance, and a portfolio of over $10 billion in spend. Prior to joining NYCHA, Ms. Kim worked with the New York State Housing Trust Fund Corporation and served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Procurement Officer for the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery, where she was responsible for the procurement of goods, construction, and professional services with $4.5 billion in U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development funding and oversaw the agency’s operations, systems, IT, facilities, and human resources.
Ms. Kim is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt professional and a certified federal contracts manager. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University and a Master of Arts degree from Yale Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.
