Supportive Housing Navigation Tools

These new Supportive Housing Navigation materials have been developed for clients seeking permanent supportive housing, and staff assisting them. Materials were developed with support from a HUD technical assistance team based on input from clients and providers and with oversight from a city core team comprised of DSS, HRA, DHS, and HPD staff.


NYC CoC Grantee & Public Meetings

Please see below for the list of the 2023 Grantee and Public Meetings and their corresponding materials:

January Public Meeting (Virtual) 

This meeting featured a presentation on the topic of Supported Employment from the Center for Practice Innovations (Columbia School of Psychiatry).

April Public Meeting (Virtual) 

This meeting featured a presentation on Coordinated Assessment and Placement System (CAPS).

June Public Meeting (In-person) 

This meeting focused on the intersection of homelessness, aging, sexual identity, and sexual orientation as it relates to the search for affordable housing in New York City. 



NYC CoC Sponsored Trainings

Presentation slides of the following trainings are available upon request for CoC-funded providers by emailing nyc.coc@dss.nyc.gov 

Overview of Cash Benefits 

  •  An introductory course on the public benefits system, which introduces the trainee to three major cash benefit programs:
    • Cash Assistance
    • SSI
    • Social Security Disability Insurance

Rules for SSI/SSDI Beneficiaries Who Return to Work

  • Learn how an SSI or SSDI beneficiary’s benefit is affected when returning to work.

HUD Environmental Review Training

The HUD Region II Field Office conducted a training session in preparation for Environmental Reviews to provide NYC CoC HUD grantees with a comprehensive understanding of how to demonstrate and document compliance with Part 58 and related environmental laws.
