Shelter Repair Scorecard
DHS looks to ensure our facilities are safe and secure by tracking outstanding building violations. The Shelter Repair Scorecard defines the scope of the problem by listing conditions at all homeless shelters in New York City that do not meet applicable regulations and makes it possible to track progress in dealing with them.
The Shelter Repair Scorecard contains
- A summary page showing the total number buildings in the DHS shelter system broken out by population and program area, a summary of inspections broken out by enforcement agency, and quarterly summaries of the average violations per building broken out by violation priority for both DHS Standard Shelters and DHS Flexible Capacity Shelters.
- A building list showing counts of open violations, by building, issuing agency, and severity.
- Please note that the updated shelter repair scorecard report will be published on a quarterly basis as of 1/1/2025.
Commissioner's Orders include all NYC Department of Buildings violations and FDNY Notice of Violation.
