The Comprehensive Afterschool System of NYC (COMPASS) Program is comprised of over 890 programs serving young people enrolled in grades K-12. Through its network of providers, COMPASS offers high quality programs that have a strong balance of academics, recreation, enrichment, and cultural activities to support and strengthen the overall development of youth. COMPASS aims to help young people build skills to support their academic achievement, raise their confidence and cultivate their leadership skills through service learning and other civic engagement opportunities.

The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) is the City's lead agency for youth employment programs. DYCD is committed to expanding opportunities for New York City's young people. Our employment programs help youth between the ages of 14 and 24 gain work experience and further their education.

Beacons are school-based community centers serving children age six and older, and adults. There are currently 92 Beacons located throughout the five boroughs of New York City operating in the afternoons and evenings, on weekends, and during school holidays and vacation periods, including the summer.
