Back to Accessibility Initiatives
The TLC manages a program that provides wheelchair accessible yellow and green taxi service originating anywhere in the five boroughs and ending either in the five boroughs, Westchester County, Nassau County or the three regional airports. Passengers pay the metered taxi fare from the point of pick-up to their destination. There are no extra costs to passengers.

Securement Videos
The Taxi and Limousine Commission has released a series of videos highlighting how to pick up and drop off passengers with disabilities. These step-by-step videos show everything from how to secure a passenger in a wheelchair accessible vehicle, to the appropriate behavior when assisting someone with a disability. It’s a great tool to remind the driver of all the steps that they should take and to get suggestions on how to provide excellent customer service.
