A registration to host a short-term rental in New York City lasts a maximum of 4 years. That means you will need to renew your registration if you want to continue hosting. Starting 6 months before the 4-year period expires, hosts will be able to apply for renewal.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Watch for an email from OSE telling you that you can renew your registration.
- Go to nyc.gov/str and log in to your account.
- On the Host Registration panel, you will see a button that says “Renew Registration.” Click on it.
- You will see the contact information you provided for your current registration. Review it and update any details that have changed.
- You will be asked to upload documents. These are the same types of documents you provided with your past application, but they must be current and not expired:
- ID
- 2 proofs of address
- lease (if applicable)
- Pay renewal application fee of $145, plus processing fees.
- Read and accept terms and conditions.
- Submit your renewal application and wait for a response.
