Renew Your Registration

A registration to host a short-term rental in New York City lasts a maximum of 4 years. That means you will need to renew your registration if you want to continue hosting. Starting 6 months before the 4-year period expires, hosts will be able to apply for renewal.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Watch for an email from OSE telling you that you can renew your registration.
  2. Go to nyc.gov/str and log in to your account.
  3. On the Host Registration panel, you will see a button that says “Renew Registration.” Click on it.
  4. You will see the contact information you provided for your current registration. Review it and update any details that have changed.
  5. You will be asked to upload documents. These are the same types of documents you provided with your past application, but they must be current and not expired:
    • ID
    • 2 proofs of address
    • lease (if applicable)
  6. Pay renewal application fee of $145, plus processing fees.
  7. Read and accept terms and conditions.
  8. Submit your renewal application and wait for a response.
