Kerry Jew was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) in January 2016. In this capacity, Ms. Jew oversees major components of NYCHA’s organizational redesign, labor relations, and agency-wide process improvements. She has direct oversight of NYCHA’s human resources and professional development; procurement, supply management, and Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) compliance; equal opportunity and compliance for residents, applicants and employees; customer contact services; administrative service operations; fleet maintenance operations; procedures development; data analytics; and enterprise program management.
Prior to joining NYCHA, Ms. Jew served as Deputy Commissioner at the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS), where she held the position of Deputy General Counsel. In this role, Ms. Jew oversaw the City’s Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Program, which promotes equity in City contracting opportunities and provides services to companies interested in doing business with government. Ms. Jew also served as Executive Director of New York State’s M/WBE Program at Empire State Department, after first working as the Corporation’s Compliance Officer. Ms. Jew entered City service as a federal civil rights litigator with the NYC Law Department.
Ms. Jew holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University and earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where she graduated with distinction.
