Heather Beck was appointed Deputy Chief Real Estate Officer in June 2025. In this role, Heather helps oversee the development, implementation, and management of NYCHA’s real estate programs. She works directly with department leadership and other senior leaders across NYCHA to ensure alignment and to provide strategic direction. In her prior roles within NYCHA’s Real Estate Development Department as Senior Advisor and as a Senior Policy Analyst, she helped implement resident-centered engagement and partner selection policies and launched a program that provides NYCHA residents with independent, technical support. Prior to working at NYCHA, Heather worked at Citizen Housing and Planning Council, where she co-led a research initiative that pulled best practices from London’s social housing revitalization into recommendations for New York.
