Project Area 1 (PA1) is concentrated in Manhattan's Lower East Side (LES) between Montgomery St. and East 15th St., including the East River Park. Please note, due to unforeseen conditions (weather, field conditions, etc.) it may become necessary to change some scheduled work locations and operations.

Con Edison Utility Work at E. 10th Street between FDR Drive and Avenue DE. | Spanish | Chinese
Starting week of May 2, 2022
Con Edison will begin phased upgrades of their utility lines under the ESCR project contract. Parking restrictions will be in effect during this operation and will be communicated through on-site signage. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. See Advisory for map.

No Curbside Parking: Cherry St. between FDR Dr. and Jackson St. | Spanish | Chinese
September 1, 2022, until further notice
Please be advised that no curbside parking restrictions will be in effect due to construction at Corlears Hook Park. "No Parking" signs will be posted by the contractor throughout the affected area. To avoid possible towing of your vehicle, please make note of the signs posted. Emergency vehicles and pedestrian access will be maintained at all time.

Nightwork: Floodwall Operations at NB FDR Dr. from Montgomery St. to Cherry St. | Spanish | Chinese
Starting week of July 18th, 2022, 10:00 pm to 5:30 am, ongoing for several months
To facilitate construction of the floodwall, preparation activities for pile install will necessitate overnight work with FDR lane closures. After preparation activities, overnight pile install will begin. Noise monitors are in place. FDR onramp Exit #3 northbound entrance (Montgomery Street) will remain open unless otherwise indicated. See weekly bulletin for more information.

Corlears Hook Temporary Bridge and New Access | Spanish | Chinese
Week of June 6th, 2022
Corlears Hook temporary pedestrian bridge to open the week of June 6th, 2022, providing access to Corlears Hook Ferry landing and passive lawn. Construction activities will necessitate the closure of the Corlears Hook Park flagpole area and Corlears Hook Bridge. To access open park areas use entrances at Jackson Street and west entrances on Cherry Street. Please follow all on-site signage while closures are in effect to ensure safety. Noise and air monitors are in place.

Con Edison Utility Work in East River Park at Greenway Continues North | Spanish | Chinese
Ongoing until further notice
Under the ESCR project, Con Edison utility line upgrade work continues in ERP along the Greenway north to E. 10th Street. Park access points are located at E. Houston, E. 6th and E. 10th Streets pedestrian bridges. Access to Track & Field and restroom areas will be maintained. See the Site Access Plan for more details. Please follow onsite signage.

Sidewalk Closure at Delancey Street and FDR Drive | Spanish | Chinese
Ongoing until further notice
Construction activities will necessitate the closure of the sidewalk at Delancey Street between FDR Drive and Baruch Drive. This change will be in place 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Traffic will be maintained and pedestrian detour is in effect. Please follow all signs and directions placed on-site to ensure safety. See Advisory for map.

Closure of Delancey Street Bridge & Park Areas South of Stanton Street | Spanish | Chinese
Starting on December 6, 2021
For public access to ferry use Corlears Hook Bridge. To access open park areas use entrances at E Houston Street, 6th Street Bridge, or 10th Street Bridge. See bicycle detour advisories. Closures include the amphitheater, southern athletic fields and basketball courts, lawn & water play area, Delancey Street Bridge, Brian Watkins Tennis Center, and dance circle. Please follow all signage while closures are in effect to ensure safety.

East River Greenway Closure Between Montgomery Street & E 10th Street | Spanish | Chinese
Starting on December 6, 2021
Construction operations in East River Park will require the following bicycle detour, 24 hours/7 days. To access ferry use Corlears Hook Bridge. To access open park areas use entrances at E Houston Street, 6th Street Bridge, or 10th Street Bridge.

Work begins in ESCR Project Area 1 | Spanish | Chinese
Starting the week of November 1, 2021
Phased work operations are scheduled to begin at East River Park. Closures within the Park and pedestrian detours will take place to accommodate equipment transport and construction fencing. Advisories and Bulletins will be posted here as developed. For vehicle and pedestrian safety, follow all signage while detours are in effect.
