NYC Free Tax Prep Volunteer Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in becoming an IRS certified VITA/TCE volunteer preparer with NYC Free Tax Prep. Volunteer recruitment has ended for Tax Season 2026 but we are preparing for Tax Season 2027 and want you to join us in helping New Yorkers!

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in giving back to their communities and interested in learning new skills. We welcome volunteers with previous experience, but it is not required as you will receive training and become certified as a VITA/TCE Volunteer Tax Preparer.

You will receive information on informational sessions over the summer. Trainings will begin in fall 2026 and tax season will run from January to April 2027. Please reach out to freetaxprep@dcwp.nyc.gov with any questions at any time. We look forward to having you on our team!
