Department of Consumer and Worker Protection Commissioner (DCWP) Sam Levine released the following statement addressing pivotal worker protection and small business bills that were voted on today:
DCWP celebrates the passage of Intros 1391, 276, and 431—important legislation that will support hard-working New Yorkers including security guards, app-based drivers, and street vendors. The City Council's override of Eric Adams's vetoes of these bills sends a clear message: in this new era, fairness and dignity for workers isn't a suggestion — it's the law.
