Breen Bros Towing Inc. Settlement Fund Claim
The NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) reached a settlement with Breen Bros Towing Inc. You may be eligible to receive money if Breen Bros Towing Inc.:
- Towed your vehicle between June 1, 2025 and June 1, 2026;
AND
- Overcharged* you or damaged your vehicle during the towing or storage of your vehicle.
*There are rate caps for towing services in NYC.
- Tow truck companies that participate in the Directed Accident Response Program (DARP) and Rotation Tow Program (ROTOW) can charge a maximum of:
- $125 for the initial tow for vehicles registered at 10,000 pounds or less
- $140 for the initial tow for vehicles registered at more than 10,000 pounds
- $25 per day for the first three days of storage
- $27 per day for the fourth day of storage and after
- Tow truck companies towing vehicles from a private parking lot can charge a maximum of:
- $125 for the initial tow and three days of storage
- $15 per day for the fourth day of storage and after
- $62.50 drop fee for unhooking a car that is about to be towed

The deadline to submit a claim is December 31, 2026 or until the Fund runs out.
