The Administration for Children’s Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Cook, Cook, and Cook Helper. This is an amazing career for anybody who is dedicated to the health and development of children.

The Food and Nutrition Services Unit manages a food services budget of $5M for FY 2024. This unit is responsible for the full-serviced kitchens that serve three meals and snacks to youth housed at the Crossroads and Horizon Secure Juvenile Detention Centers and the Nicholas Scoppetta Children's Center (NSCC) congregate facility. Menus are developed by staff Dieticians to ensure meals are nutritionally well balanced, delicious, and complies with and exceeds the Mayor's Office of Food Policy (MOFP), NYC Food Standards, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), National School Lunch and Breakfast Requirements as directed through Child Nutrition at the New York State Department of Education (NYSDOE), and the requirements of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), and other local, state and federal food and nutrition regulations/ guidelines.
