How You Can Help

Volunteer Services

The Volunteer Department at Queens Hospital is dedicated to enhancing and contributing to patient satisfaction, comfort and safety. This department is among the most important components of our healthcare facility. On a daily basis, people of all ages gravitate to the hospital to inquire about how they can offer their time and talent toward helping others. These volunteers -- men and women who are students, working adults, and active senior citizens -- often find that by serving others they enrich their own lives in ways they never expected.

Volunteer service provides an excellent opportunity to be productive, to explore careers in healthcare, to learn new skills and to help the community. Whether they help in an office, a clinic, patient transport or a patient unit, volunteers play a part in the overall care of our patients and in the delivery of quality healthcare services at Queens Hospital Center.

Among the departments where volunteers can work include:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Admitting Office
  • Patient Transport
  • Support Services
  • Health Information Management
  • Chief of Service Offices
  • Medical Library
  • Pharmacy Department
  • Ambulatory Surgery
  • Psychiatry
  • Finance - Patient Accounts
  • Patient Relations
  • Social Work Services
  • Ambulatory Care Services
