Community Advisory Board

The Queens Hospital Center Community Advisory Board (CAB) serves as a link between the hospital and its surrounding communities. Comprised of community planning board members, community representatives, and consumers of the hospital, CAB members meet regularly to ensure that Queens Hospital provides the best possible medical care to the community. In their role as advisors, they represent the views of the community in the decision-making process and provide vital perspectives on the development of plans and programs. Outside of QHC, the Community Advisory Board keeps the community informed of the hospital's goals and objectives.

At the pleasure of the President of the Health and Hospitals Corporation, Queens Hospital Center CAB members can be appointed by either the Executive Director, the Queens Borough President or Community Planning Boards in our catchment area. Currently no more than 35 CAB members can serve on the Community Advisory Board at any given time. All CAB members are asked to serve on at least two subcommittees. The current subcommittees of the CAB are Patient Care, Community Relations, Membership, By-Laws, Finance, and Newsletter. CAB members are allowed to serve no more than three consecutive terms; the duration of each term is three years.

The Community Advisory Board generally meets monthly on the fourth Wednesday, except in July, August, November and December.

The Chairperson of the Queens Hospital Center CAB is Ms. Julia Blair.
