Gouverneur's Nursing Facility was ranked one of the best in the U.S. by the Centers for Medicare & Medicare Services (CMS), who recently began issuing quality rating the nation's 15,800 nursing homes that participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs.

The new system addresses a nursing home's overall rating and its performance in critical areas, such as health inspections, quality measures, and nursing home staffing. In doing so, CMS applies a 5-star quality rating system, which ranges from 5 stars for nursing homes rated "much above average" to 1 star for nursing homes rated "much below average."

With only 12% of the nation's nursing homes receiving a full 5-star rating, Gouverneur has a lot to be proud of. Congratulations to Nursing Facility Administrator Tammy Carlisle and to all of the nursing facility (NF) staff whose dedication to our residents and family enabled them to receive the highest rating possible.
