Barbara Brancaccio was appointed Chief Communications Officer, effective April 8. As Chief Communications Officer, Barbara will highlight the many positive stories taking place throughout the Authority as well as the efforts underway to transform NYCHA. She leads the Department of Communications and its work to disseminate information to the media, residents, employees, elected officials, and the general public. Barbara most recently served as a communications consultant in the private sector. She also has extensive experience in public service, having served as the Managing Director of Press and Communications for the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery, Deputy Commissioner for Communications and External Affairs at the City’s Department of Homeless Services, and the Executive Deputy Commissioner for Communications at the NYC Human Resources Administration.
