Erasmus Ikpemgbe

Commissioner Ikpemgbe runs the Architecture Department at Sabir Richardson and Weisberg, an engineering and architecture firm. With over 20 years of architectural experience, he brings a broad skillset in transportation, institutional, mixed-use, resiliency, and building assessment projects. He has deep expertise in the public sector and city infrastructure, having conducted inspections of hundreds of city-owned properties, generated data for capital improvement planning, and led complex infrastructure projects within the constraints of fixed municipal budgets. Commissioner Ikpemgbe has served as a board member and parliamentarian for the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), where he helped shape local programming including Project Pipeline, a national NOMA initiative aimed at increasing the number of Black architects nationwide. He holds a Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland. He lives in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
