You can now get an IDNYC card without an appointment at certain locations.
Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis at these locations on these days:

  • Brooklyn Public Library (10 Grand Army Plaza) - Tuesdays
  • Bronx Monterey - Wednesdays
  • Manhattan Union Square - Thursdays
  • Queens Public Library at Central (89-11 Merrick Boulevard) – Fridays

All other locations still require an appointment. New appointments are available every Friday for the following week (Monday to Friday).

Appointments are released each week on Friday, for the following Monday through Friday. To schedule an appointment, click here or call 311 to make an appointment. Do not book more than one appointment per person. If you cannot make it to your scheduled appointment, please cancel, and reschedule for a later date or time.

  1. Select your language: The IDNYC online portal can be translated into English, Español (Spanish), 简化字 (Chinese), Русский язык (Russian), Kreyòl ayisyen (Haitian Creole), 한국어 (Korean), বাংলা (Bengali), Polski (Polish), and (Arabic) لعربية.
  2. Select the type of application you are submitting
    1. New application (Currently Unavailable)
    2. Updating the information on your card
    3. Replacing a lost/stolen/damaged card
    4. Reapplying because your previous application was not approved (Currently Unavailable)
  3. Read up on our application instructions including eligibility and document requirements.
  4. Fill out the online application form.
  5. Use the new IDNYC Document List to select the documents you are going to bring to the enrollment center. The IDNYC Document List will let you know when you have met the identity and residency document requirements.
  6. Schedule, reschedule or cancel your appointment for an enrollment center using our new scheduling page.
  7. Review the information, provide an electronic signature, and submit your application.
  8. You will receive a confirmation receipt with a confirmation number and your appointment information. Please make sure to print this receipt and bring it with you to your appointment.
