Important Information About HRA Locations

Concourse Centers

Effective, Friday, February 16, the HRA Concourse SNAP Center will be closing and the HRA Concourse Benefit Access Center (BAC) will be relocating--both currently located at 1365 Jerome Avenue, Bronx, NY 10452. HRA will end operations at that location on Friday, February 16, 2024, as of 5:00 PM and reopen Benefit Access Center (BAC) operations on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 8:30 AM at the new location, 845 Barretto Street, Bronx, NY 10474. Regular operating hours will be from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Consolidation and Name Change  of Jerome and Kingsbridge Centers

Effective Monday, August 14th, 2023,  the Jerome Center and the Kingsbridge Center which are both located at 888 Garrison Avenue in the Bronx, will be consolidated and operate as one center under the name: Garrison Center #43. The consolidated center will be located at 888 Garrison Avenue, 3rd floor, Bronx, NY 10474, in the same building where both sites are currently operating. All Jerome and Kingsbridge Center cases will be serviced at the consolidated Garrison Center. These centers will continue to share a common reception area.

Relocation of HRA's Coney Island SNAP Center and Medicaid Office

HRA’s Coney Island SNAP Center, currently located on the 1st floor at 2857 West 8th Street, will be relocated to the 1st and 2nd floors of 1912 Mermaid Avenue on August 12, 2022, as of 5:00 PM. Office operations will resume on August 15, 2022, at 8:30 AM, at the new location. Regular operating hours will be from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Case records will be transferred to the new location at 1912 Mermaid Avenue.

HRA’s Coney Island Medicaid Office, currently located on the 3rd floor at 3050 West 21st Street, will also be relocated to the 1st and 2nd floors of 1912 Mermaid Avenue on August 12, 2022, as of 5:00 PM. Office operations will resume on August 15, 2022, at 8:30 AM, at the new location. Regular operating hours will be from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A person can apply and be serviced at any of HRA’s Medicaid Offices regardless of their address, as long as they live within the five boroughs.

Relocation and Consolidation of HRA's Waverly Location

HRA’s Waverly Job & SNAP Center, currently located at 8-12 West 14th Street, is relocating to the HRA facility located at 109 East 16th Street. The current location at 8-12 West 14th Street will close on July 29, 2022, as of 5:00 PM. Case records from this location will be transferred to the center located at 109 East 16th Street, and office operations will resume on August 1, 2022, at 8:30 AM, at a new location called HRA Benefits Access Center Lower Manhattan. Regular operating hours will be from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Re-opening of the HRA Benefits Access Center St. Nicholas

The HRA Benefits Access Center St. Nicholas and Hamilton HASA Center located at 132 West 125th Street re-opened to the public on Monday, April 11, 2022. Manhattanville Community Medicaid Office Move

Manhattanville Community Medicaid Office, located at 520-530 W 135th St., moved to a new location on Monday, July 12, 2022. The new office, known as Dyckman Community Medicaid Office, is located at 4055 10th Avenue, on the lower level. Medicaid Community Office at Metropolitan Hospital

HRA’s Medical Insurance and Community Services Administration (MICSA) Medicaid Community Office at Metropolitan Hospital, located at 1901 First Avenue New York, NY 10029, 1st floor, closed permanently on October 30, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Manhattanville Community Office, located at 520-530 West 135th Street, New York, NY 10031, is currently the only community office in Manhattan open to the public. Regular operating hours for Manhattanville are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Southern Brooklyn Consolidation

On March 2, 2020, DSS/HRA alerted elected and community partners that HRA’s Southern Brooklyn Job Center moved from its current location at 35 Fourth Avenue to 275 Bergen Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217, because the lease is expiring and the building at 35 Fourth Avenue is being sold. This move occurred on August 28, 2020. The staff, the operations and most of the caseload of the Southern Brooklyn Job Center merged with the existing HRA Benefits Access Center Boerum Hill, at 275 Bergen Street. Some of the caseload from the Southern Brooklyn location was already transferred to Coney Island Job Center earlier in 2020.

Consolidation of Common Benefit Identification Card Offices

HRA consolidated its two Common Benefit Identification Card (CBIC) locations on May 8, 2020 (postponed from April 13). The CBIC location at 109 East 16th Street in Manhattan closed, and all CBIC clients are now served at the citywide distribution center at 227 Schermerhorn Street in Brooklyn. Please note that clients receiving emergency benefits can receive a temporary identification card at the location where they applied, and no longer need to travel to a CBIC location.

The Medicaid Office at North Central Bronx Hospital is Moving

The Medicaid Office located at North Central Bronx Hospital, 3424 Kussuth Ave., 1st Floor, Room 1A05 moved to a new location at 2541-2549 Bainbridge Avenue, Bronx, NY 10458 as of Monday, March 23, 2020. The Medicaid Office phone number is 929-252-3230.

The DSS/HRA Burial Claims Office moved, and is now called the Office of Burial Services

The DSS/HRA Burial Claims Office changed its name to the Office of Burial Services (OBS), and moved to a new location on Monday, March 2, 2020. The office, formerly located at 25 Chapel Street in Brooklyn closed on Friday, February 28, 2020, at 5PM, and reopened on 9AM Monday, March 2, 2020 as the Office of Burial Services at 33-28 Northern Boulevard in Queens. The office is open Monday through Friday 9AM to 5:30PM, and serves all NYC residents, and assists persons outside of NYC seeking to bury an indigent or unclaimed person who died within NYC or to exhume a deceased person already buried on Hart Island.
