FDNY TO HOLD 25TH ANNIVERSARY SEPTEMBER 11TH MEMORIAL CEREMONY ON STATEN ISLAND

The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) will hold a memorial service on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks and honor the 343 FDNY members who made the Supreme Sacrifice that day, as well as the FDNY members, active and retired who have since died from World Trade Center-related illnesses. The ceremony will be held at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park (FerryHawks Stadium) on Staten Island at 4:00 p.m. The ceremony can be viewed live on the Department’s website at www.nyc.gov/FDNY or HERE.

Credentialed members of the media are invited to attend the ceremony. Media must be in place by 3:30 p.m. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m.

Detailed Media Guidance for September 9

  1. Limited press parking is available.
  2. The designated parking lot entrance is located at the intersection of Bank Street and Jersey Street. HERE is a map PIN. Follow directions to the ADA lot.
  3. Event staff will direct you to a spot.
  4. The designated press entrance is on Richmond Terrace. Please note that the walk from the parking lot to the media entrance is far.
  5. TV crews may drop off equipment on Richmond Terrace between 2:30-3:15 p.m. and then proceed to the parking lot.
  6. Members of the FDNY Press Office will check you in and provide event credentials.
  7. There is a press section on the upper decks of FerryHawks stadium for all media (stills and video), a member of the Press Office will direct you to the designated area.
  8. Please be in place by 3:30 p.m. Media will not be checked in after that time.
