Description

FDNY certifies companies to clean Commercial Cooking Exhaust Systems. The company certification is valid for a period of one (1) year.

Fire Code section 901.6.3.3 (PDF) sets forth the proper requirements.

Cost of Certification

The original application fee is $105.00. The renewal application fee is $50.00.

Other Requirements or Special Instructions

After an official review of the company application, FDNY will mail a letter of approval valid for a period of one (1) year. The company will have to comply with the Fire Code and New York City Fire Rules to properly conduct cleanings of Commercial Cooking Exhaust Systems across the five boroughs.

The principal of the Commercial Cooking Exhaust Systems company must present at least five (5) years of legally recognized field experience, hold a valid W64 Certificate of Fitness or P64 Certificate of Fitness and provide other pertinent documents outlined in the application in order for the company to become recognized.

The company must keep FDNY insurance records up to date in order to appear on the Approved List.

Renewal Process

A complete company application, all pertinent documents and fees must be submitted for review to renew the company certification. It is highly recommended to submit all required documents for renewal at least four (4) weeks prior to expiration of company’s approval.
