A person or business must have a Home Improvement Contractor license to do work that costs more than $200 to any residential building in NYC. Home improvement work includes remodeling or repairs. Below is the Wall of Shame, a list of all home improvement businesses that received a violation for operating without a DCWP license within the last 12 months. DCWP received consumer complaints about all of these businesses, so avoid hiring them or any unlicensed contractor. The list is in alphabetical order.
