Lowery & Bliss Plazas

The Lowery and Bliss Plazas are two pedestrian plazas managed by Sunnyside Shines and the Department of Transportation (DOT) in Sunnyside, Queens. The plazas are located under the elevated 7 train. The Lowery Plaza runs along Queens Boulevard at 40th Street, while Bliss Plaza is at Queens Boulevard and 46th Street. Each plaza is approximately 6693 square feet.

Plaza Features

• Vehicle Traffic is restricted by bollards (short vertical post), which are removable through a request from DOT
• Tables and chairs are present for pedestrian seating
• Planters decorate parts of the plaza
• Foot traffic is estimated at 12,800 people per day at Bliss Plaza and 9,600 people per day at Lowery Plaza
• Vehicular traffic is estimated at 44,000 to 64,000 per day
