Will I be able to use the online portal after the DOB NOW launch?
No. If the initial certification for the building has not been submitted through the online portal by July 24, 2026, submit the certification in DOB NOW: Safety. All future submissions will be submitted in DOB NOW: Safety.
Am I still required to complete the GPS1 form?
No, log in to DOB NOW: Safety and submit an Initial Certification indicating any conditions/defects, if any, and the amount of time needed to correct the conditions, either 120 or 180 days.
Am I still required to complete the GPS2 form?
No, the paper GPS2 will no longer be required. Log in to DOB NOW: Safety and submit a Certification of Correction to attest to all corrections of conditions identified in the Initial Certification.
When should I submit a Verification Request?
Building owners, owner representatives, LMPs or RDPs can use +Property Verification if the building is found when searching on the LL152 Gas Piping System Compliance tool and you believe the building is not required to comply with LL152, or is a new building that is not yet required to comply with Local Law 152.
Who can submit the certifications and requests in DOB NOW?
All transactions can be submitted by a Licensed Master Plumber (LMP), Journeyman Plumber under supervision of an LMP (LMP must attest on certifications), Registered Design Professional (RDP), Owner, or Owner’s Representative can submit the initial certification and all requests. If conditions were identified on the Initial Certification, the Owner or Owner’s Representative cannot submit the Certification of Correction.
When does the owner have to log in and attest?
The owner will need to log in to DOB NOW: Safety using an NYC.ID account to attest on all Certification request.

When should Cross Streets be selected for a Special Installation?
Select Cross Streets for Special Installations that do not have a physical building address. DOB will use this address to conduct the electrical development inspection. If the Cross Street information entered on the filing is not correct and the inspection cannot be conducted as a result, the inspection result will be Fail-Final and require the filing to be withdrawn and refiled.
How do I search for inspections in DOB NOW?
You can find inspections in the DOB NOW Public Portal by searching by job number, address, or BIN. From the BUILD: Job Filings section at the bottom of the screen, double click on the job number, and then select Inspections. If you are associated with the job or are an Inspection Delegate, you can view the inspections on the dashboard when you login to DOB NOW: Inspections Plus.
What should I do if my building needs to comply with LL152 but does not appear on the LL152 Properties list or LL152 Gas Piping System Compliance tool?
The property information should be reviewed by DOB. An inquiry may be submitted to LL152@buildings.nyc.gov for verification.
